No one does holiday season better than Burberry. Each year the luxury brand delights us with the best possible ad campaigns for the winter holidays. Christopher Bailey’s muse Cara Delevingne is the leading star in their latest project. Cara is accompanied by the popular British actor Matt Smith.
“I am so proud to share this new shoot I did with Alasdair McLellan and Matt Smith. Thank you to the creative genius and my dear friend Christopher Bailey for involving me in this and all the incredible projects over the years. It has been and always will be a joy to work with you and the Burberry family.”- said Cara.
Bailey took a strong cue from the 80s for the advertising material. All of the looks very much remind of those golden years. The knitwear is quite impressive, colorful and trendy. This campaign promotes Burberry’s new collection that is already available for sale. It also celebrates the British heritage of the brand by bringing back recognizable designs and prints. The signature plaid pattern of the fashion house is once again dominant in the designs. You will see their chic-trench coats and luxury scarfs. In other words, all the essentials you need for winter. If you need a pair of fingerless gloves, chunky scarf or statement accessories now you know where to find them.
Together with the ad pictures, Burberry released a fun video. In it, you can see the two brits singing and laughing to the fun sounds of “Always On My Mind” by the Pet Shop Boys. Alasdair McLellan is the renowned British photographer who stayed behind the lens during the photoshoot.
Cara was discovered back 2010 by no one else than Christopher Bailey. Since then the actress and model became a regular part of his advertising projects. Her first official photoshoot for the brand was for their Spring/Summer 2011 campaign. While Delevingne might be a veteran when it comes to the British fashion house, her co-star is marking his debut. This is Matt’s first ever collaboration with Burberry and first fashion campaign.
Another major news that circulates connected to the fashion house is the leave of their creative director. After spending 17 years in Burberry and transforming it into a world fashion force, Bailey announced that he is stepping down.
