For the re-opening of their Old Bond Street store, Dolce and Gabbana set an amazing show. Shortly after launching their Harrod’s take-over, the Italian duo has more to offer for the Brits. In the newly renovated shop, they presented a new couture collection.
Dolce and Gabbana showed 90 looks that featured pieces from their Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria and Alta Gioielleria collections. The designs from the line are extremely luxurious and high-end. Every look is exaggerated but in a very beautiful way. The Italian designers love involving excessive embellishment and embroidery in their collections. This time there were also sequins, rich velvet materials and many symbols that point out to the British heritage of the collection. No one could ever get enough of their over-the-top glamour.
The luxury show was invite-only, so around 250 influencers got to attend. Once again the A-listers took over the front rows of the show. Just like previous times they could use Whatsapp to place their orders for the pieces. Stefano’s and Domenico’s fashion extravaganza was a real tribute to Britain. They even referred to the show as a “Love Letter To London”.
“English people have the greatest taste. We love London. London is about freedom. It has always been that way, then and now.”- said Gabbana.
Aside from the stunning men’s and women’s clothes, there were also jaw-dropping jewelry pieces. Starting from bejeweled crowns, statement necklaces to huge vivid earrings.
The luxury Italian house occupied the whole building at 6-8 Old Bond Street to use for their needs. There, Domenico and Stefano launched a three-floor high-end store to sell their luxurious designs. This is the first Alta Moda store outside of Italy for the designer duo. It was designed by the popular architect Gwanael Nicolas, who managed to get the rarest marbles in the world and use them for the stunning space. It took him over two years to relaunch the new flagship and to transform it into the most glamorous store in London.
Just recently the designers took over the most popular department store in Britain, Harrods. They literally implanted the D&G spirit on every single corner of the shop. Aside from the clothing of the Italian Brand, you can also get accessories, kitchen appliances, and even their own pasta. The Harrods collaboration will last until December 28.
