The must-have collection for this season has finally arrived. Erdem and the high-street brand H&M unveiled their new line. With Moralioglu it’s always about fascinating glamour. With the Erdem X H&M, the designer brought us all a step closer to high-end fashion.
You will find many feminine designs that radiate with elegant beauty. Erdem’s favorites- jacquard and lace dominated in the collection. His love for flowers once again left us breathless. The stunning dresses are all red carpet material. Gender-bending was present in some of the pieces. Moralioglu decided to introduce a thin line between womenswear and menswear by introducing perfectly tailored suits for ladies and florals for men.
“Once I’d finished fitting a Harris Tweed suit, I’d take it off the boy and put it on the girl and it just looked amazing. So then came the Harris Tweed suit for women — it’s one of my favorites. It’s a collection of pieces that have a permanence about them, which is almost the antithesis of this idea of what fast fashion is.”- Erdem Moralioglu explained.
This was the debut menswear collection for Moralioglu. So far we were only used to seeing his whimsical women’s designs. We were really impressed by the men’s part of the line and the refreshment it brought in the fashion industry. It is created for the modern gentleman that can really handle chic and elegant clothes. According to Erdem men aren’t supposed to be scared of rich jacquard fabrics and bold colors. He also encourages them to accept a new trend- the pajama wear. Many female celebrities are already rocking their pajama looking suits, and now men might be doing the same.
This is actually the 17th time that H&M is collaborating with high-end fashion houses. The Swedish brand has a rich history of working with big names such as Balmain, Kenzo, Stella McCartney on affordable collections. H&M is one of the rare brands that are really trying to change the fashion industry. With each of their collaborations, people that can’t afford high-end designs, but love fashion get closer to their dream pieces.
The collection will be released on November 2, both in stores and online. The Erdem X H&M line will feature around 35 women’s designs, and also accessories, bags, and shoes. For the males, there will be around 20 different styles. Better get your wallets ready, cause November is right around the corner.
