Nicki Minaj and H&M are off to another amazing collaboration. This morning the Swedish brand released the official video for their holiday collection. In the short movie, Nicki and actor Jesse Williams transform into magical fairies. Aside from that, the singer will soon debut her own collection for H&M that is made of 12 items designed by her.
Nicki and the accessible brand started their collaboration a while ago. H&M created a special custom-made gown for the singer, which she wore at the 2017 Met Gala. Since then, they’ve been working closely on the holiday ads and Nicki’s capsule collection. The magical video was filmed by photographer Tim Walker and director Johan Renck in a location in Scotland. Minaj and her co-star Jesse play the roles of husband and wife that have a young daughter. The Grace Anatomy star is reading her a bedtime story which turns into a whole fairytale. John Turturro is also a part of the video and he’s playing the Evil Brother of Father Christmas.
The exclusive line is based on the Japanese culture, which Minaj is fascinated with. It’s a 12-piece limited-edition capsule which features several holiday essentials. You will find fashionable long hoodies, fierce red dresses, long kimonos, and trendy accessories. Aside from that, you will also get the chance to shop H&M’s new holiday collection.
“It’s a big honor. I’ve always loved H&M, and they had such a heart-warming idea for this campaign. When I heard the concept, I immediately said, Yes. I’m really excited about how it turned out. I’ve been a faithful H&M shopper for a very long time; there’s an H&M at Queens Center back home. What’s so great about H&M is they always are ahead of trends and they put out a product you can wear for more than just one season. That’s very important to me. Looking like you may have just stepped off the runway when you really just stepped out of the mall.”- Minaj told Refinery29.
Nicki’s line will debut on Thursday, November 30. Until then you can check out the 12 designs and decide which ones are your favorite. H&M is continuing their quest of collaborating with high-end fashion houses and celebrities. We are very thankful for their affordable collections that are a chance for everyone to shop merchandise from their favorite luxury designers. So far, they’ve worked with huge stars such as Lady Gaga, Future, Chance the Rapper, The Weeknd and more.
