We bring more great news from the world of fashion. The mega-popular singer and occasional designer, Pharrell Williams is working on an exclusive sneaker style with Adidas and Chanel. Pharrell will customize his Adidas HU NMD sneakers and re-invent them for the collaboration. It will be an exclusive, limited-edition line, that will only be sold at Colette. Knowing the popularity of this kind of collabs, the new style will definitely sell out within days. The sneakers will probably drop during the final week of the Chanel pop-up at Colette. Unofficial photos of the sneakers have been circulating all over social media. Reportedly, the limited-edition style will be done in black and white and it will feature both “Chanel” and “Pharell” words.
The singer has been collaborating with Lagerfeld and Chanel for quite a while. You can often see him wearing dapper Chanel suits and other chic designs form the luxury fashion house. In the beginning of 2017, Pharrell became the first man to star in a Gabrielle bag campaign. In December last year, Williams walked the Chanel Métiers d’Art show.
Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld will be taking over Colette’s first floor for one month. Starting from October 30, the designer will open a Chanel pop-up, in the rooms of the trendiest store in the world. Karl has prepared many surprises and events that will be happening until November 25. Every Tuesday and Thursday special guests will be present at the pop-up. Caroline de Maigret, who is a Chanel ambassador and Lagerfeld’s muse is one of the faces that will be a part of the events. Each Friday, the designer will set makeup workshops. And last, but not least, the very popular band Ibeyi will perform sometime during that month.
Chanel is not one of those fashion houses which tend to team up with other designers, even less with sportswear brands. But since Pharrell is already connected with Adidas, he probably acted as the link between the luxury fashion house and the most popular sportswear company in the world. Adidas, on the other hand, has a rich history of working with popular designers. They’ve teamed up with Stella McCartney, Yohji Yamamoto, and several others.
Unfortunately, the iconic Parisian store will be closing its doors on December 20. Until then we will enjoy several other high-end collaborations. Saint Laurent will probably take over the three-store space of Colette from next year.
